Our History
Assisting those in need.....
Before the Transition, Inc., (BTT) started in 2009 in Southern California. With the thought in mind and realizing that our foster youth are in need before they transition out of the system, and wanting to give back to this forgotten population is one of the reasons why I started this nonprofit.
Another reason, as I was volunteering at a shelter of single young mothers ages 17-24 (at that time) with mentoring, employment development, life skills, motivation, topics covering: domestic violence, harassment on the job, and computer training.
One day a counselor called me, and mention that one of the young ladies had a job interview the following day and needed a suit! I reached out to people I know via email, and the word was out “single mother in need of a suit." I had a overwhelming response, and that was the beginning of BTT assisting those in need of clothing to go out and interview for that job. We cater to: Single mothers/fathers, Veterans, Foster Youth, Seniors Citizens, and Formally Incarcerated. Suit 4a Suit, 1000 Suits for 1000 Women Veterans, Suits 4a Youth, are programs we assist those who need a suit with our donations of clothing. Suit 4a Suit was started in honor of my father who was a Army veteran. Giving back give back to the men and women who defended our country.in all armed forces.
Our Expertise
We care about people making that first impression when it comes to interviewing toward a job, so we try to give top quality clothing.
Over the years, we have been getting clothing from various resources such as many caring individiuals who have cleaned out their closet, clothing drives, and we get top quality donated clothing from Men's Warehouse, which is a blessing! Men designer suits, shirts, ties, shoes, outter sports wear, cufflinks, and other merchandis they are not able to sale. Macy's has in the pass years, donated $1000 in a gift card form. Thank you Macy's!
Our Commitment
Help those populations in need of clothing such as: Veterans Foster Youth, Seniors, Formally Incarcerated.
We are committed to assisting those community base organizations that we partner with in donating clothing to their agencies for their participants.
